This elegant, ethereal, and hand-forged contemporary wall sculpture by Stefen Duerst, is hot-formed steel, powder-coated yellow, and finished with a double layer of German 24-karat leaf gold. A unique version of this sculpture is available on commission, please allow 8 weeks for completion.

The Canadian artist hand-forges these lyrical abstract forms from one continuous wide ribbon of steel to create fluid ‘curls’ that appear to express energy in motion. Duerst looks to nature’s energy—earth, wind, fire, and water for his inspiration and juxtaposes organic shapes with industrial materials. Duerst’s artworks can now be found in many prestigious public collections throughout North America. One of a series.

Stefan Duerst was born and raised in Munich, Germany. He apprenticed under a Master Blacksmith and worked in both metal design and fabrication. He completed his Masters in Metalwork with distinction. Stefan Duerst has exhibited throughout North America.
His sculptures can be found in both private and public collections in Canada, the US, and Europe including Canadian Embassies in London, Morocco, and Washington.
