Ceramic Artist Susan Collett Featured in Where Women Create Magazine
Oeno Gallery is pleased to highlight Toronto-based ceramic artist Susan Collett’s recent feature in Where Women Create, a publication that celebrates the stories and studio practices of women artists across disciplines.
In this reflective article, Collett shares an intimate portrait of life in the studio—her rhythms, rituals, and revelations gathered over a remarkable 30-year career. Whether sketching in a notebook while travelling or working long days in her Toronto studio, Collett's practice is defined by discipline, experimentation, and a deep connection to the material.
"The real work is to push through to the next level, and I realize that this is not dependent upon the next opportunity or portfolio sent out, or the next “brilliant” piece, but instead depends on the inner strength of you." - Susan Collett, Where Women Create, 2025
A full-time artist, Collett continues to work across clay and print, pushing the boundaries of each medium and allowing one to inform the other in surprising ways.
Her work is currently on view in Oeno Gallery’s Into the Woods exhibition, running until June 8th, 2025.
