About Moose Plunge (large)
Toronto contemporary artist Charlie Pachter’s tragicomic depiction of a moose plummeting from a cliff merges playful, pop art inspiration with deeply iconic Canadian imagery, composed of aluminum with baked enamel. The steel moose silhouette sculptures have been installed across Canada. Two are on the University of Toronto campus.Pachter is a much-admired Canadian artistic polymath--painter, printmaker, sculptor, designer and author. A graduate of the University of Toronto and the Sorbonne-Paris, he is an Officer of the Order of Canada, a Chevalier of France's Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and twice a recipient of the Queen's Jubilee medal. He has honorary Doctorate degrees from the Ontario College of Art & Design, the University of Toronto and Brock University. His work is in public and private collections around the world.
