Elegant and evocative, Jennifer Hornyak’s beautiful floral paintings are inspired by German Expressionism and early 20th century Flauvist masters such as Matisse. This single pink blossom sits in a vase against a deep indigo blue background. Hornyak’s work blurs the line between figuration and abstraction. The Montreal based artist achieves such rich textures by applying layer upon layer of glaze.
