About Fresh Flowers

A pretty, mixed floral bouquet fills the canvas with joyful colour in this still-life painting by Pat Service. The Canadian artist explored the traditional art form in the 1990’s but in her own masterful, unique way. The palette is a colourful mix of pinks, purples, and white—each individual flower rendered in exquisite detail. A turquoise striped pattern serves as a backdrop giving this expressive piece a more modern look.

“There is a way of putting down paint that allows for hesitation and approximation but can end up being very particular. You might almost say I painted by smudging around the paint in quick dabs and all the smudges worked together to bring a richness to the result.” Pat Service

Pat Service acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Pat Service is represented exclusively by the Oeno Gallery.
