About Summer Flowers

The simple beauty of a summer bouquet is celebrated in this lovely floral portrait by Pat Service. The Canadian artist chose to experiment with the classic still life genre in her own unique way. Brightly coloured flowers in red, orange, yellow and blue sit in a tall, patterned porcelain vase against a soft pink background.

“Whenever anyone bought me a lovely bouquet of flowers I would go crazy until I could get them to the studio; there I could paint them, drawing inspiration from their luxuriousness.” Pat Service

Pat Service acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
